One hundred years ago down at Corio Bay at the wharf, jetties and piers, big sailing yachts sailed in to the wharfs. They would usually bring in food and lots of other supplies like horses, carts and things for the animals to stay healthy. If you went to a certain point in Geelong you could see the masts of the sailing ships from where the sailer would get a good view of where he was going. In Geelong there used to be a pier near Point Henry and another called Cunningham Pier. There used to be a lot of piers in Geelong but now there are only two.
